This policy is designed to compensate crop farmers that suffer loss as a result of the negative effects of fire, flood, pests and diseases, windstorm, lightning, aircraft damage, and drought on their crops.
This policy covers all crops (Arable & Cash/Permanent) such as rice, maize, wheat, oil palm, cassava, vegetables, etc, with sum insured depending on the estimated input costs of the farmer from land preparation to harvesting.
The period of cover is from germination to physiological maturity and/or harvesting of the crops (for arable crops), and for one year period (for the Cash/permanent crops). Claims are assessed based on the stage/age of crops and the estimated input/production costs at the time of loss.
